| BENEFITS FOR THE FATHER... . Fathers tend to be *more* involved with the birth when a doula is present. . Fathers are more likely to be involved in the birth at the level they feel comfortable. . Fathers become more familiar with the language and process of birth . I help facilitate communication between the father and the birthing mother. . I suggest various ways for the father to help and support the mother through labor & delivery Because my husband was freed from the primary role of guiding me through labor, he and I were able to labor lovingly together. I didn't rely on him to somehow save me from the pain of labor, so there was no tension between us from expectations. He said he was glad to be part of the experience rather than carry the burden of the experience. ~ The Birth Book |

| Testimonials... Recently my wife and I gave birth to our first baby. It was the most beautiful experience to which I could enjoy fully because of the knowledge, comfort, & support of Heather. I am so glad my wife and I chose to have a Doula present during the birth, and we plan to use Heather's services again in the future if we are blessed with another child. Matt Fithian (father to Devon, pictured above) My wife and I were very fortunate to have such an incredible person as Heather by our side during my wife Brenda's labor & delivery. As a first time father, it was such a tremendous benefit to be able to tap into Heather's deep knowledge and experience as well as for her emotional support. She did more than her job, and made this the most beautiful experience of my life. She also took lots of time with Brenda after the birth as well which was wonderful!
